Our Mission

To know Christ and make Him known.

The mission of Signal Mountain Bible Church is to equip believers "to do the work of the ministry" through the teaching of the Word of God (Ephesians 4:11-16). This mission has three components:

The upward ministry of worship through prayer (Acts 2:42), singing praises (Colossians 3:16), remembering the Lord in Communion (Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26), and studying Scripture (2 Timothy 2:2,15).

The inward ministry of building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12,16) through application of Scripture to our Christian responsibilities, both personally and corporately: by encouragement (Hebrews 10:25), prayer (Philippians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:17), accountability (Galatians 6:1-5), discipline (1 Peter 5:8), benevolence (1 John 3:17), hospitality (Romans 12:13; 1 Peter 4:9), and serving one another through our Spiritual gifts (Romans 12:6- 8; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11, 28; Ephesians 4:11; 1 Peter 4:11).

The outward ministry of fulfilling Jesus' great commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20) through evangelism (2 Corinthians 5:18-20) and discipleship (1 Thessalonians 2:1-12).

The goal of our ministry is to know Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:10) and to make Jesus Christ known (2 Corinthians 5:18).
