What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a worldwide Christ-centered ministry started by Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church to help people overcome life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups through a balanced and engaging program based on Jesus’ own teachings.  For years the program has helped people deal with issues using eight principles from the Beatitudes of the New Testament and biblically based steps to recovery.

How Does Celebrate Recovery Help?

Large Group Gathering gives us a place to meet together for worship through music and to receive teaching on one of the 12 steps/8 principles or encouragement from personal testimonies given by those who have been working through the process of recovery.

Open Share Groups give us a place to share our hurts ,habits, and hang-ups.  The groups are gender specific so we can connect with others who we can identify with and who can identify with us, giving us the security and support we need to begin to heal.

Step Study Groups allow us to work through our hurts, habits, and hang-ups.  Led by facilitators who have been through a step study themselves, participants work through lessons in the Celebrate Recovery participant’s guides using The Twelve Steps and related Scriptures to obtain the tools that will allow them to overcome their struggles and become whole.

How Is Celebrate Recovery Organized on Signal Mountain?

Most Celebrate Recovery ministries (CR) are run as a part of a medium to large church. There are about 10 throughout the greater Chattanooga-North Georgia area. On Signal Mountain, we have formed a small, modestly funded 501c3 (non-profit) business to combine the resources of several like-minded churches to coordinate CR activities and outreach. The corporate name is Signal Resources for Hope and Healing and has a board of directors and advisors. Church sponsors include The Point Church, Signal Crest United Methodist Church, Signal Mountain Bible Church, Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, and Wayside Presbyterian Church.

Group meetings are held at Signal Mountain Bible Church, Thursday evenings at 7 PM. For more information, please send an email to SRHH. We appreciate your prayer support. If you are led to donate to this growing ministry, please make checks out to Signal Resources for Hope and Healing (or SRHH), c/o Signal Mountain Bible Church at 4872 Shackleford Ridge Road, Signal Mountain, TN 37377
